EpubCraft 4.2.1 · Windows x64
Make a book,
not just a file.
Open your chapters, shape the text, and see the book take form. A full Windows workspace for visual and HTML editing, scanned-book OCR, and EPUB, Kindle KFX or Kobo KEPUB export.
Version 4.2.1 · x64 installer · Not for ARM64 or 32-bit Windows
Install → test → activate
Start with your book.
Buy after OCR works.
Editing and export do not need the OCR runtime. To recognize scanned pages, complete these steps on the Windows installation you plan to use.
-
Install EpubCraft in an ASCII path
Use the Windows x64 installer. Choose a path containing only ASCII characters, such as
C:\EpubCraft; avoid Thai or other non-ASCII characters anywhere in the installation path. Keep Windows security protections enabled and review any security warning before proceeding. -
Place all three OneOCR files beside the app
Independently obtain compatible
oneocr.dll,onnxruntime.dllandoneocr.onemodel. In the installed app's directory, create a folder namedOneOCRbeside the EpubCraft executable, and put all three files directly inside it — not beside the downloaded installer and not in a nested subfolder.C:\EpubCraft\ EpubCraft.exe OneOCR\ oneocr.dll onnxruntime.dll oneocr.onemodelPurchasing EpubCraft does not supply these files, establish compatibility, or grant Microsoft's runtime rights.
-
Restart, connect and try OCR
Fully close and reopen EpubCraft after placing the files. Connect to the internet, open a scanned PDF in OCR Studio, and run OCR on a page. Check the result with your own books and languages. The trial allows 50 successful OCR operations across all projects and Windows users on this OS installation.
-
Buy, back up your key and activate
Once OCR works, buy the 199 THB Windows license. Copy or download the key from the checkout result page and keep a private backup. In EpubCraft, open License, paste your key and choose Activate license while online. Paid OCR then works offline indefinitely on that activated installation.
Know your edition
The Windows scope, plainly.
| Platform | Windows x64 on Intel or AMD. ARM64 and x86 / 32-bit builds are not supported. |
|---|---|
| OCR engine | Compatible Microsoft OneOCR runtime, independently obtained and installed in OneOCR/ beside the executable. Use an ASCII installation path. |
| Internet | Required for trial OCR, purchase, first activation, new-installation activation and device management. Not required for paid OCR after activation; no periodic license check. |
| Book tools | Visual and HTML editing, CSS templates, chapter work, and EPUB / KFX / KEPUB export. Editing, export and embedded-PDF-text extraction remain available when the OCR trial ends. |
| Not on Windows | Scan Studio and automatic deskew. Mac/iOS licenses are separate purchases and do not activate Windows. |
Before you buy
A license for the app.
Not a lock on your book.
What exactly counts toward the 50-operation trial?
Each successful OCR operation counts once, including rerunning the same page, recognizing a cropped raster, and a successful result with no text. Engine or rendering failures do not count. The allowance belongs to one Windows OS installation, shared across projects and Windows user profiles — not 50 per book or per person. Editing, previewing, cropping or embedding an image, and extracting an existing PDF text layer do not consume OCR operations. An ordinary app reinstall or project reset does not reset the trial.
What happens when the trial ends or I am offline?
Only further OCR is locked when the 50 successful operations are used. Your documents, editing, exports and embedded-text extraction remain available. Trial OCR needs the licensing service and an internet connection; losing connectivity is not a reason to buy before testing. After online activation, paid OCR works offline indefinitely on that installation.
Does 199 THB include OneOCR or future major versions?
No. The one-time payment grants perpetual use of EpubCraft V4.x on two activated Windows OS installations, without a subscription. V5 is not included. Microsoft OneOCR files and rights are not supplied by this license. Download the app, independently set up a compatible runtime, and confirm OCR works before paying. Mac/iOS App Store purchases remain separate and unchanged.
How do I receive and recover my license key?
The checkout result page displays your key and offers a key-file download. There is no automatic license-key email; save a private backup before leaving that page. A Stripe receipt is not the key. If you lose the key or cannot reopen the purchase result, contact the seller through Discord support for order verification and recovery. Do not post your key or payment details in a public channel.
Can I move my license to another Windows installation?
Use License → Manage devices while online to free an activation slot, then activate the new installation with your key. There can be two current activation records. A Windows OS reinstall may be treated as a new installation. The key is your management credential, not an account; keep it private. An already activated, indefinitely offline copy cannot be remotely disabled by device management, deactivation or a refund.
What if the licensing service is unavailable in the future?
An existing paid activation has no expiry or periodic online check, so paid OCR continues offline. New-installation activation and device management still require the service; perpetual use does not promise that those online services will exist forever. Keep your license key and your book backups safe.
What leaves my computer?
Document files, page images and OCR results stay local for editing, OCR and export. The licensing service receives a pseudonymous Windows installation hash and trial-operation / activation records — not your PDFs or OCR text. Stripe processes payment and checkout information. The optional Thai word-segmentation helper is separate: if you use it, it sends text to an online tokenizer. No EpubCraft account is required.
Why might some trial operations be held after an interruption?
The trial reserves an operation before OCR starts. An interrupted connection can leave it held until the app reconciles the result online; refresh the trial status or restart while connected. Successful OCR still counts even if the app closes before you save the result. If local recovery data was removed and a reservation stays held, contact support. This does not lock editing or export.
What if the runtime does not load or Windows warns about the installer?
Before purchasing, check the x64 architecture, ASCII installation path, the exact filenames and their placement, then restart the app. The files must be compatible with each other and your Windows environment. For installer integrity, compare its SHA-256 with the published checksum; a matching checksum is not a code-signing or safety guarantee. Review Windows security warnings rather than disabling protections. If OCR still fails, contact support before buying.
